Background Information on me…..

I worked fulltime until I got ill with stage 4 Oesophageal Cancer (Adenocarcinoma) . The diagnosis was made on the 21st of January 2016 and the prognosis was not good.

It spread to my left lung as well as compromising many lymph nodes. I was told there was nothing that could be done for me in Ireland. The only option given was palliative chemotherapy and a clinical trial to prolong my quality of life for a maximum of eighteen months before I died.

I wouldn’t accept that. I encountered many obstacles in my path to recovery. Thankfully still alive and looking to help support other cancer patients as much as possible. Currently being investigated again, but staying hopeful. Just grateful for each day I am breathing and don’t take the small things for granted anymore.
